Florida's Retirement Communities

Florida’s not only diverse in its many cultures. Florida’s regions offer different tastes of the Sunshine State. Whether you’re looking for small-town hospitality or metropolitan hustle, you can find it in Florida.

Northwest Florida

Powdered sugar sand and emerald waters line the shores of Florida’s Panhandle, known as the Emerald Coast. The region is unspoiled on the coast and inland, and close-knit communities bring metropolitan conveniences and lifestyle to residents’ fingertips. Fishing, boating, swimming, sunning  and sailing are just a few of the popular activities in this region. The Northwest area boats a mild climate, beautiful beaches and woods, and intriguing history.

North Central Florida

North Central Florida is a region overflowing with beautiful rivers such as the famous Suwanee and many national and state forests. The region is a crossroads in the state where Interstates 10 and 75 connect. It is a quick trip to anywhere in the state. Communities in this region will appeal to those seeking a slower pace and small-town hospitality.

Northeast Florida

Like the rest of Northern Florida, the climate of this region is mild, slightly cooler in both winter and summer than some of the more southern communities the Sunshine State offers. Northeast Florida is home to metropolitan Jacksonville, historic St. Augustine and more relaxed communities including Green Cove Springs and Fernandina Beach. Recreation activities abound, including fishing and golfing—in fact World Golf Village is located between Jacksonville and St. Augustine.

The areas many estuaries provide ample opportunities for bird watching and fishing. For more hustle and bustle, Tampa’s cultural offerings including museums,  parks and aquariums.

Central East Florida

This coastal region bridges the gap from the past to the future. From auto racing, kennel clubs and historic towns, to the space industry, Central East Florida offers its own unique charm. Daytona’s and New Smyrna’s speedways are sure to keep you moving along. The Space Coast ensures a great view for watching shuttle launches. Fishing along Sebastian River Inlet and golfing are prime activities.

Southwest Florida
